introduction:
hi, my name is markus amsler. I am a structural engineer with over 30 years of experience in designing bearing structures. my goal with this channel is to provide tutorials in calculation and design of structural elements. this is mostly for concrete but also for steel and timber structures. I also want to give insights into calculation concepts and material
characteristics. this video #1:
this first tutorial video is about an often used element of concrete structures. it’s about the calculation of a simple slab without a computer. after this video you will be able to calculate single or, by joining them together, even multiple slab structures. I show you how to put together geometry, materials and loads. and I show you the way from there to the finished design of a safe slab including reinforcement.
I will develope those skills in further videos, as multiple slabs, deeper material properties, the concept of design levels and also different element types.
I am looking forward to this!
you can download the used tables (czerny 2.2.1 and cross section) and the complete script from my homepage.
you can also leave comments wether on youtube or in the comment section of my homepage. I glad for suggestions like how to improve my channel or what content would be interesting for you. please understand that it probably won’t be possible for me to answer every single comment.
thank you very much for your support and thank you for subscribing!
cheers!
